Fire Academy Essentials Graduation

Thursday evening was a busy evening for Etna firefighters. While we hosted the North Hills TRT at our social hall with several members attending, we also attended the Fire Academy essentials graduation. Thank you to Shaler Area Highschool, Shaler Area Fire Chiefs, Allegheny County Emergency Services, and everybody who supported the education of these young members. Etna has long supported a junior firefighter program and this new highschool program is an amazing addition to our recruitment efforts. Firefighters Jayden Odille and Aidan Porter will complete their live fire training this Saturday bringing both them to interior firefighter status in the coming days. All of the members shown in these photos were junior firefighters who are now a critical part of our success. If you know a young person (14-18) who might be interested in learning more about public safety, we would love to talk to them.
